Have you ever stood looking up in awe along the length of a giant oak or redwood? The sheer scale and majesty of these giants can be overwhelming. Other trees although smaller in size can be equally appealing in a different way. The canopy of delicate branches catching the sunlight’s rays or the soldier like structures standing in rows defending the landscape behind them.
These are the sort of images that give me inspiration which has sparked a new series of work on trees. I’m enthralled by the different aspects that nature offers us and the woodlands and forests of England are an endless source of artistic material.
I shall be producing work using watercolours, charcoal, oil, ink and acrylic and attempting to capture the awe inspiring rugged beauty of these resolute men of the forest.
