March is going to be a busy month for me. With two exhibitions for the month, catching up with my studio schedule after working on a commission, preparing my new van for painting trips & selling the old one, I have got my work cut out.
I was asked a while back by The David Lloyd club in Poole if I’d like to exhibit some of my work in their members area for the whole of March. It’s a new venture where they’ll be promoting one local artist or photographer each month, so it will be interesting to see what results. I will be hanging my work there today.
During my Scape To The South exhibition back in November I was asked if I’d like to join a future exhibition so from the 15th to the 26th of this month I’ll be joining 7 other Dorset artists at The Gallery Upstairs, Upton House, Poole for the exhibition detailed in the images. I’m still working to complete pieces for this. The exhibition title is All Things Bright & Beautiful so hopefully it will be a precursor to the start of a bright and beautiful spring.
For a while I’ve been thinking of changing my old VW transporter for a newer, bigger van with more potential for painting ‘en plein air’ & storing painting equipment. Well I’ve finally done it. I’ve swapped from a 20 year old van to a newer van, only 15 years old! I’m planning a conversion to campervan with the added use of a travelling studio. I’ll be talking about my expeditions in future blogs.
All in all its a busy month so I’d better get my skates on, which is quite appropriate as it’s now snowing!
