Workshops / Demonstrations

As an artist always looking to advance I experiment with different methods in my work. I’m now happy to be able to offer an insight into these through demonstrations & workshops. My aim is not to teach how to copy a particular style of painting but to help develop an individual style through observation and use of certain principles in painting. Sometimes we just need a nudge in the right direction and a bit of encouragement to give us the confidence to put paint to canvas. The subjects I offer cover the same principles I use in my own work.

GROUP DEMONSTRATIONS

For group booking such as an art group or society. I will demonstrate a painting or section of a painting using a particular principle or subject. Duration is approximately 2 hours including a break around half way through. These can also be held as an interactive workshop where individuals can bring their own materials and work through a painting themselves. Duration for this would be approx 2 1/2 hrs. Prices include my travel expenses to a location within 20 miles of my studio in Bournemouth. Outside this distance there is a charge of 50p per mile to cover extra expenses. Please click the ‘contact’ button above to enquire about booking me for a demo.

WORKSHOPS

These are held at a pre arranged venue in Bournemouth or surrounding areas and are available to buy online. They are designed to help give you the confidence to develop a painting using certain methods & techniques. Workshops are limited to 15 in size so that individual help can be given if required without any time pressure. Refreshments are included during the session. You will need to bring your own equipment & clothing protection. If you would like to attend but don’t have any equipment, this can be supplied for a small charge so please contact me with any requirements. Duration is approximately 3 hours.
